It took Lionel Messi less than seven minutes to score for Argentina after being brought on from the bench - within half an hour he had a hat-trick. Panama were defeated well before Messi took to the pitch - a Nicolas Otamendi header and a red card for Anibal Godoy saw to that - but the Barcelona forward showed the brilliance that makes him one of the best players in the history of the game.
